FAQ
- 01Yes, there is a lot of training out there, however I do believe that my training is unique. My background as a Detective Sergeant, a specialist in the investigation of rape and sexual assaults, a specialist in supporting victims of sexual assault does give the training an edge that other training providers do not have. Every example I am giving, every activity the students are doing, every discussion that is taking place, is based on real life events. Events which have happened in the past to young people, are happening now and sadly will be happening in the future. My training provides a real insight into the topic and complexity of consent. My training is honest, often hard hitting but has the safety and welfare of all participants as a priority. I do believe that consent training should also be about the person responsible for sexual assaults and rape. Therefore, my training is about the victim/survivors of a rape and sexual assault and how to support them AND about the real life changing consequences for a potential suspect. Rape and sexual assault is a choice someone makes - therefore I want to provide the information so that everyone can make the right choice and if necessary step away. I am also a qualified teacher for young people and for adults, which has helped me develop an engaging, interactive and - hopefully - enjoyable program.
- 02The package has been put together with expertise and true, real life knowledge and experience. The content and teaching method has been tried and tested with 1000s of students and their staff. You can deliver consent with the reassurance that your students will receive high quality training. It saves time - no more researching the topic of consent as part of the RSHE curriculum. It is interactive, entertaining, varied and easy to use. Just lean back and let the eLearning package take off the burden.

- 04Everything you need to know about consent is in the package. If you think something is missing, let me know. You don't have to do any research, read any books or watch You tube videos. It is all there. Including a glossary with legal expression explained and FAQ students have asked in my lessons. Simple. You and your students will be consent experts after having used the package. I suggest to go through the package before you deliver it - this is purely to identify which parts might cause discussion and might need a bit more time.
- 05The package is full of surprises! There is a lot of information, but I have broken it up, so that students don't loose interest. The package includes plenty of quizzes, scope for discussions, multiple choice questions and has a knowledge check at the end. Remember, you are in control when delivering the package. You can skip things or spent longer on certain topics -it is down to you! All material I have used has been tried and tested and is still being used when I do my face to face training. If you are not sure, just book a free consultation and I will demonstrate the package for you!
- 06I do understand that schools and colleges are really busy places, therefore i have adapted my eLearning packages to your needs. You could deliver the standard package, which can be delivered in about 1 hour - obviously this depends on your students and how engaged they are! If you feel you need more than the 60 minutes packages, you can chose from a menu which contains additional topics - in might be that you have a particular problem at your school and would like to cover that. The package will be adapted to your needs.
- 07The costs of the package is not per student, but per institution. Within your institution you can deliver the package to as many students ( from year 9) as you like ! The costs are £400 for the first month (minimum is one month) - every additional week is £100. Some schools deliver the package within 4 weeks, others use the package for a whole term or even a year. The choice is yours! One hour assembly or CPD starts from £189, a 90 minute workshop or CPD session starts from £209. However, if you decide to use the eLearning package, you will receive a free teacher training session on consent, disclosure and how to deliver the package - worth £209. Please get in touch if you need to discuss.
- 08I believe the training is simply not suitable for younger students and is not age appropriate. The training deals with sexual offences and their consequences - my experience when delivering to younger students, is that they find the training too much and often upsetting. Even for older students, safeguarding support during and after the training is a must.
- 09Bespoke means that all training - whether it is workshops, assemblies or the eLearning package, is bespoke to your area and will include all safeguarding information about your institution you would like to include. Some schools wanted to include short films about their school safeguarding team into the eLearning package - which was no problem and meant that the school made sure all students knew to whom to go for help.
- 10I am not CPD accredited. This would drive the costs of my training up, which is not what I want to do. I am a qualified teacher and have an NVQ in teaching adults. During my training for teachers I will share my experience as a Police officer and specialist in dealing with victims and suspects of rape. I am also sharing the mistakes I made, when dealing with disclosure, so you don't make the same mistakes. My training for teachers and educators is a practical and realistic way on how to support victims and -yes- suspects of rape and sexual assaults.
- 11Yes! I offer one to training for students. This might be for someone who feels uncomfortable in a group setting and might be particular vulnerable. I also offer training for students and young people who have been accused of sexual assault or rape and their institution - be it a college, school or university - would like , as part of a possible sanction or opportunity to reflect, some training for that particular student. These training session take about 5 hours, and can be delivered face to face or online.

- 13Consent training is my absolute passion, after I have witnessed - many times -the devastation of not understanding or ignoring consent will cause. I have put years of research and development into the training. All training is tried and tested and I have delivered to literally thousands of students and educators. I keep adding and developing my training, including the eLearning package. I do understand however, that it is always risky to take on an outside provider. If you are not sure, have a look at the feedback I am getting from my testimonials. Many schools and institutions are regular customers, coming back every year. I hope this gives you some reassurance. If you want to arrange a consultation so we can meet, please get in touch. A consultation is free and there is absolutely no obligation to buy.
- 14Absolutely. Consent training is about prevention of sexual assault and rape, which is an integral part of preventing ' Violence against women and girls'. Although the training is for every sexual orientation, the fact remains that most victims or rape and sexual assault and rape are female and most perpetrators are male. The consent training discusses these topics in detail during the training.
